Position vacant - 100% small animal FT or PPT
Summer Street Vet Clinic is seeking a fourth veterinarian to work in our fully equipped and rapidly growing 100% small animal practice in Orange, NSW.
We have positions for an experienced surgeon and new graduates and surgical training/mentoring is available. We’re looking for people who are compassionate, have good communication skills, work well as part of a team and have a sense of humour!

    Sponsored Visa!
For overseas applicants contemplating moving to Australia, we would also consider sponsorship, provision of a car and accommodation. You could do a six month or one year sabbatical or make a more permanent move.

For suitable applicants wanting to make a permanent move to Orange, a relocation allowance is available and future partnership opportunities will be considered.

    Flexible hours
Our vets currently work a 67-hour fortnight with either Monday or Friday off which means a 3-day weekend. After hours work is minimal and our roster is flexible, so if you have other commitments (like kids!) and are interested but would like fewer hours, we can work around school hours etc.

Remuneration is well above the award and can be negotiated according to experience (FT $75,000.00 - $135,000.00). We also offer all the usual allowances, continuing education etc

    Established practice
Our practice has recently undergone extensive renovations and is well-equipped with all the usual toys such as Idexx in-house lab, digital X-ray, ultrasound, IM3 dental gear, orthopaedics, Vitavue Multiparameter monitor etc.
We are a busy clinic with an interesting and varied caseload and lovely, devoted clients. We provide a safe and fun work environment with an emphasis on high standards of care and a great work/life balance. We have a great team of highly skilled nurses and vets and whether your passion is medicine or surgery or both, we can accommodate you.
As a way of giving back to the community, we also support the local animal rescue groups (Animal Welfare League and the Rabbit Sanctuary).

Fabulous regional location – just 3 hrs to Sydney
Orange is one of the most sought-after regional destinations in Australia. It’s an easy 3-hour drive from Sydney and Canberra and offers a wonderful lifestyle. There’s a great country town vibe (think green rolling hills, farmers markets, renowned cool-climate wineries, pick-your-own orchards and berry farms in quaint historic villages) with all the perks of big city living, including:

  • the new Orange Base Hospital which is the largest non-metropolitan health and trauma centre in the Southern Hemisphere
  • 2 excellent 18-hole golf courses and a new $25 million sports precinct underway
  • 16 schools including private (Kinross Wolaroi and Orange Anglican School), Catholic (James Sheehan and St Mary’s) and good public schools; Charles Sturt University campus
  • award-winning restaurants and wineries

Orange is a renowned food, wine and tourist destination (in the Wotif 2023 awards for the top 3 best towns to visit in NSW) For more information on Orange: https://www.visitnsw.com/destinations/country-nsw/orange-area/orange

For anyone with a HECS debt, we would be happy to pay your annual HECS payments for as long as you are with the practice. We also offer paid study leave and training/mentoring in surgery and orthopaedics.
