Sally McPhie

Veterinarian & Practice Owner (BVSc)

Sally graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney in 1998 and initially began working in rural mixed practice in Yass, then Griffith and Hay, and finally Cooma.  After having children she returned to university and completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery before returning to veterinary practice.

She purchased The 'Summer Street Vet Clinic' from the previous owner Dr Sarah Britton at the end of 2013, and moved with her partner Scott and her boys to the beautiful town of Orange which they now call home. They live on a property on the outskirts of town where they share their piece of paradise with an old pony, 3 cats, a rabbit, a paddock full of sheep and 'Pirate' the wannabe sheepdog.

You'll find Sally at the clinic most days, usually out the front consulting with a packet of treats to spoil your pets and make them feel relaxed and welcome.

Scott is an experienced vet having graduated with honours from Sydney University in 1977. He has extensive experience working in both large and small animal practice both in Australia and overseas, as well as owning his own practice in Queanbeyan for over 22 years.

Scott moved to Orange in 2014 and lives with Sally and their boys on a property on the outskirts of town. He has been a part of the team since 2014 when they purchased the practice but initially worked here as a locum before then becoming our full time surgeon. Scott has a passion for all things surgical with a special interest in orthopaedics.

During his time away from the clinic, Scott enjoys visiting his children and grandchildren, travelling, all things fishing, and gardening.

You will find Scott carrying out surgical consultations and working behind the scenes, preforming most of the surgeries here at the clinic alongside our team of wonderful nurses and assistants. He loves nothing more than a cruciate repair or a challenging plating / fracture to start the day off.
